BIOSWEEP® franchisees provide innovative odor removal and indoor air and surface decontamination services using the BIOSWEEP® Model 900 machines.
BIOSWEEP® does not use any chemicals and is considered a green technology. We (Phocatox Technologies) developed the BIOSWEEP® technology and proprietary operational procedures. We are the sole manufacturer of the BIOSWEEP®.
The BIOSWEEP® is used to permanently remove odors caused from sources including:
- cigarette smoke
- cat/dog urine
- dead animal (including skunk)
- curry & cooking odors
- sewage backup
- fire & water/flood damage
The BIOSWEEP® is used to disinfect or decontaminate indoor air and exposed surfaces and contents contaminated from sources including:
- molds (fungi) and allergens (including dust mites)
- viruses & bacteria (including MRSA, H1N1 and C.diff)
- sewage/septic
- bio-hazards (trauma/crime scene cleanup)
- chemicals & material offgasing (including meth lab cleanup)
- flooding
There are many exciting markets for BIOSWEEP® services including:
- multi-family housing and property management
- residential real estate professionals and home inspection
- automotive dealerships
- trauma/crime scene cleanup
- cleaning and restoration contractors
- schools, student housing and athletic facilities/locker rooms
- commercial property including hotels, restaurants and office space
- health care facilities
Local service rates are determined by the individual franchisee. However, we offer practical guidelines based on our market research and field experience.
The BIOSWEEP® franchise is a mobile service business and can be easily operated and managed initially by one person. It is common for our franchisees to later add technician-level employees on a full or part time basis.
Each BIOSWEEP® franchisee receives a protected geographic territory usually ranging from 700,000 to 1.6 million in population. (The BIOSWEEP® 900 is sold only to BIOSWEEP® franchisees). We do not locate more than one BIOSWEEP® franchisee in a territory. We also offer expansion options and multi-territory growth opportunities.
Our technology is quite different (unique) from anything currently used for odor remediation or air and surface decontamination. Competition consists primarily of ozone treatment, air filtration or chemical fogging services. But unlike our competition, our proprietary Phocatox® technology is based on an advanced form of photocatalytic oxidation that is vastly superior, much more effective and time efficient.
The initial franchise fee consists solely of the equipment purchase. The equipment consists of the BIOSWEEP® Model 900 machines and miscellaneous safety and monitoring equipment. BIOSWEEP® franchisees initially purchase six BIOSWEEP®s for use in their service business. The BIOSWEEP® Model 900 currently costs $6,495.00 each. Average total investment necessary to begin operation of a BIOSWEEP® Franchise is from $56,000 to $70,000. The BIOSWEEP® includes a three year/7,000 operating hour warranty. The quantity of BIOSWEEP® units is generally based on the geographic size of the protected territory and/or the scope of service the franchisee chooses to focus.
The BIOSWEEP® franchise may be operated as a "stand alone" service business or offered as an ancillary service to clea
ning and restoration, mold remediation, home inspection and/or other indoor air quality service businesses.
An average two or three bedroom apartment (900 to 1,200 sq. ft.) generally requires 2 to 3 BIOSWEEP® units to properly treat; whereas a much larger residential dwelling or commercial property might require 4 to 6 (or more) units. Vehicles are generally treated with 1 BIOSWEEP®.
Treatment times vary from as little as one hour (vehicles) to approx 4 to 8 hours for most residential dwellings and commercial or institutional properties. For respiratory safety, the space must be unoccupied during treatment. Average setup and tear-down time is 30 minutes each. Note: It is not necessary to remain on premises during treatment.
The "ramp up" for new BIOSWEEP® franchisees varies widely
depending on a couple important factors. One factor is the
amount of time devoted to the business (full time vs. part
time). The second factor is background and experience.
Because our technology is new and most markets unfamiliar
with our services, in-person cold calling (direct sales) on
potential customers is essential to franchisee success. We have
the most success with "show and tell" presentations where we
can effectively demonstrate our technology and services often
leading to high acceptance from potential customers. Our average BIOSWEEP® franchisee
experiences a six to twelve month ramp up in identifying target markets, procuring new
customers and establishing recurrent revenue streams.
We provide a comprehensive 3-day orientation and field training session prior to commencement of operations. This mandatory training covers all operational methods, treatment scenarios, health and safety, technical data, sales and marketing strategies, marketing materials and forms. Training is conducted in-person at your location. There is no additional charge for training. Ongoing field support is also provided.
